![]() Now with this it is nice that I can put this on and bam open a game in steam and play no hoops to jump through though big picture mode in steam is kind of clunky in the steam link hoping it’s not as bad in vr Tracking should be great as I must mount tracking boxes to my wall or on mounting poles so I better get good tracking however that also means to use it anywhere else I need those as well kind of defeats the purpose of vr if I’m locked to my one room Now the pro reviews say no screen door effect at all however the screen is almost the same on the pro as it is on the odyssey so I kind of call bull on that I want to see comparison each person’s eyes are different. The screen door effect is the main reason I want to demo them. Now I have not gotten to demo this as it was broken at the time so I am going off reviews and other specs The access to steam is not as plug and play you must go through the windows house to the desktop to steam sure a few hoops but other than that it works They call it mixed reality yet it is only vr now with Microsoft anything is possible they could bring out ar later in an update I mean it does have cameras on it that must be usable besides just tracking the wands ![]() The controller tracking seemed ok to me however there are a lot of reviews of it not being on par with the vive which makes sense as the vive has whole room sensors this one has just two cameras in the front Hearing outside voices kind of sucks however I was in a Microsoft store and they probably didn’t have it super high volume or it could be the headphones This is one of the biggest draw backs for me I have a pair of gaming headphones I use already (logi g930) and would rather use however these ones do swivel so I may be able to work around them, Heaviness on face or sweating, now this is a big thing I honestly did not feel the weight on my face nor did it cause the heat to build up inside like it does for psvr, also had a good seal around the face I didn’t have any corner light leaks like the Rift gave me. Yes, you could but the motion of these Vr controllers plus the joysticks to move around or go through menus is a nice feature (honestly, it’s what has me debating it over the vive) Now I know what you’re saying why would I need those I could just use a controller if I wanted joysticks. Joysticks on controllers is an amazing thing. But hey you get a house to explore and you really can teach yourself who needs tutorials these days. ![]() The plug and play is just that you plug it in and bam you can play no real setup the tutorial is kind of vague. The screen door effect is vaguely there and easily adaptable to after a couple seconds I didn’t notice it anyway Let me delve into some of these points now A couple hoops to go through to get to the steam games. The controllers are only tracked by front of camera.I could hear outside people talking when using it.wasn’t heavy on face nor did it cause face sweat.no room tracking hardware to fumble with or set up.Here is some insight on a few big vr devices and some pros and cons to each. There is a lot of hype around Vr devices and Vr games. HTC vive VS Samsung odyssey (with a dash of oculus rift)
